Best iPhone 18 Pro Preorder Deals: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile & Apple

Compare the best iPhone 18 Pro preorder deals from Apple, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, plus trade-in terms, delivery dates, storage and Pro vs Pro Max.

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max lineup

Preorders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max opened on September 12, with the first deliveries and in-store availability scheduled for September 18.

If you already know you want one, the decision really comes down to three things: Pro or Pro Max, how much storage you actually need, and whether a carrier deal saves you money after the plan requirements are factored in.

There is also some real preorder pressure already. Within two hours of orders opening, several 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max configurations had slipped into October delivery, while the smaller iPhone 18 Pro was still showing September 18 delivery across all configurations at the same check.

The quick answer

For most people, the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB is the model I would buy.

It starts at $1,199, has the same core 48MP Pro camera system as the Pro Max, starts with a useful 256GB of storage, and is easier to carry than the 6.9-inch Max.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299. That extra $100 makes sense if you specifically want the bigger display and longer battery life.

Apple rates the Pro for up to 36 hours of video playback and the Pro Max for up to 45 hours.

It is the configuration I think gives the best balance of price, storage, cameras, performance and size for the largest number of buyers.

iPhone 18 Pro vs Pro Max: what are you actually paying for?

The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch OLED display. The Pro Max increases that to 6.9 inches. Both support ProMotion up to 120Hz and the same core display technologies.

The camera system is also fundamentally the same on both sizes. Apple lists a 48MP variable-aperture Main camera, 48MP Ultra Wide and 48MP Telephoto with optical-quality zoom up to 8x.

Best forMost buyersBig-screen and battery-first buyers

That makes the choice simpler than Apple’s naming suggests.

Buy the Pro Max if a huge screen and maximum battery life are genuinely important to you.

Buy the Pro if you want almost all of the flagship experience without carrying the larger 249g phone.

There is also one unusual technical difference worth knowing. Apple’s U.S. specifications list its new C2 cellular modem on the iPhone 18 Pro, but not on the Pro Max. Both models still support 5G, mmWave and Gigabit LTE, so I would not choose a phone solely because of this, but it is a real spec difference that is easy to miss.

How much storage should you buy?

Apple now offers both Pro models in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities.

StorageiPhone 18 ProPro MaxMy take
256GB$1,199$1,299Best choice for most buyers
512GB$1,399$1,499Good for heavy photo and video use
1TB$1,799$1,899Mainly for creators and huge local libraries
2TB$2,399$2,499Very specialized use

Those prices are Apple’s current U.S. prices before sales tax.

I would start at 256GB unless you already know storage has been a problem on your current phone.

If you have owned a phone for years and are still well below 200GB used, there is little reason to suddenly buy 1TB just because the phone has “Pro” in the name.

512GB makes more sense for people shooting lots of high-resolution photos and video, downloading large media libraries, or keeping substantial amounts of content offline.

The 1TB and 2TB models are for buyers who already know exactly why they need that much storage.

The best iPhone 18 Pro preorder deals right now

This is where the launch gets more interesting.

Apple says its own Trade In program currently offers $175 to $885 for an eligible iPhone 13 or newer. Apple is also offering access to carrier promotions worth up to $1,200 with qualifying trades.

The headline carrier offers are strong, but the conditions matter just as much as the discount.

SellerCurrent headline offerWhat to watch
Apple$175 to $885 Trade In creditValue depends on device and condition
AT&TUp to $1,200 offEligible trade-in and qualifying requirements
T-MobileUp to $1,200 off / Pro On UsQualifying plan, trade or switch requirements, bill credits
VerizonUp to $1,200 offEligible trade, plan/new-line requirements, 36-month credits

AT&T says new and existing customers can receive up to $1,200 off with an eligible iPhone trade-in, including devices in any condition.

Check the current AT&T iPhone 18 Pro offer

T-Mobile is offering up to $1,200 toward the iPhone 18 Pro with qualifying plans and eligible trade-in or switching conditions. The important part is that the discount is generally delivered through monthly bill credits, potentially over 36 months.

Check T-Mobile’s current iPhone deals

Verizon has two interesting paths. Switchers can get an iPhone 18 Pro through its Simplicity Pro offer without a trade-in, while eligible myPlan customers can receive up to $1,200 off with a qualifying trade and new line. Verizon says those trade-in savings are applied through monthly promotional credits over 36 months. Existing-line upgrades can qualify for up to $1,020 under eligible conditions.

Do not judge a carrier deal by the “$1,200 off” headline

The better calculation is:

Total phone discount minus any extra service cost you would not otherwise pay.

If you already like your carrier, already use an eligible plan, and were planning to stay for three years, a bill-credit promotion can be excellent.

If you need to move onto a much more expensive plan purely to qualify, the deal may be less attractive than it looks.

If flexibility matters most, buying unlocked directly from Apple is much easier to understand.

Delivery dates are already moving

This is the part I would watch most closely on preorder day.

At approximately 6:45 a.m. Pacific Time on September 12, all four 256GB Pro Max colors were showing estimated delivery between October 6 and October 13 for new Apple orders.

Some 512GB configurations had also moved later. Glacier was showing September 24 to 29, while Burgundy had slipped to October 6 to 13.

At that same check, the 1TB and 2TB Pro Max configurations were still showing September 18 across the listed colors, and all configurations of the smaller iPhone 18 Pro were still available for September 18 delivery.

That is only a snapshot. Inventory can change throughout the day.

Check the delivery estimate shown during checkout before changing your preferred color or storage option. Apple Store pickup may also have different availability than home delivery.

The camera upgrade is more interesting than another megapixel number

The most meaningful camera change this year is the new variable aperture on the 48MP Fusion Main camera.

Instead of a fixed aperture, Apple lets the camera use f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 or f/4.0. The phone can manage this automatically, while Apple’s Pro controls let photographers adjust aperture, shutter speed and white balance themselves.

That can matter for low-light shooting and depth of field more than simply increasing the megapixel count again.

The camera system also includes the 48MP Ultra Wide and 48MP Telephoto, plus optical-quality 8x telephoto output.

For someone upgrading from a much older iPhone, that is a substantial jump.

For an iPhone 17 Pro owner, I would wait for proper independent camera comparisons before spending another $1,199 or more.

Battery life may be the upgrade you notice most

Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro at up to 24 hours of typical use and 36 hours of video playback.

The Pro Max increases that to 30 hours of typical use and 45 hours of video playback.

Both models also support charging to roughly 50 percent in around 15 minutes with a compatible 60W or higher adapter. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging support up to 25W.

Those are the kinds of improvements that can matter more in normal daily use than benchmark numbers.

What buyers are actually talking about today

Preorder discussions today are much less focused on Apple’s marketing language and much more focused on practical decisions.

People are comparing Pro vs Pro Max, 256GB vs 512GB, Burgundy vs Glacier, delivery dates, and whether upgrading from older phones is worth the cost.

There were also multiple reports of Apple Store app errors during the first minutes of ordering. Some users said repeated attempts eventually worked, while others reported completing the order through Apple’s website when the app failed. These are individual reports, not evidence that everyone experienced a problem.

Color chatter is especially noisy. Burgundy and Glacier are appearing frequently in preorder discussions, but there is not enough verified sales data to claim either is the most popular color.

That is why I would not choose a color based on what social media says is “selling out.” Choose the one you actually want, then check its real availability at checkout.

Should you preorder the iPhone 18 Pro or wait?

You should consider preordering now ifYou should probably wait if
You are upgrading from a significantly older iPhoneYou already have a recent Pro model
You know exactly which configuration you wantYou are undecided between Pro and Pro Max
You care about launch-day deliveryYou want independent battery and camera testing first
Your preferred Pro Max configuration is slippingYou are mostly upgrading because it is launch week
A carrier offer fits a plan you already wantThe “deal” requires a plan you would not otherwise buy

For someone coming from an iPhone 11, 12, 13 or another older device, the cumulative improvements make this a much easier purchase to justify.

For someone with an iPhone 17 Pro, it is a harder sell. The variable-aperture camera, battery improvements and A20 Pro are real upgrades, but buying a new $1,199 phone every year is not automatically good value.

Dabeast Pick: iPhone 18 Pro 256GB

If I had to recommend one configuration to the widest group of buyers, it would be the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB.

You get the same core Pro camera system, the A20 Pro chip, 256GB starting storage, the more manageable 6.3-inch body, and a $100 lower starting price than the Pro Max.

The Pro Max is the better buy only when you specifically value the 6.9-inch display and its substantial battery advantage.

If that describes you, spend the extra $100 without overthinking it.

If it does not, I would keep the money and buy the regular Pro.
